1. About DealSplit
DealSplit is a platform designed to help people discover deals, coordinate bulk purchases, divide purchases into shares, organize group buys, communicate with nearby participants, and coordinate pickup or fulfillment.
For example, an organizer may purchase a multi-pack or bulk quantity and allow other users to claim portions of that purchase.
Unless DealSplit expressly states otherwise, DealSplit is not the seller, buyer, manufacturer, distributor, payment processor, delivery provider, or owner of items offered through user-created listings.
Users are responsible for their own transactions and interactions with one another.
2. Eligibility
You must be legally permitted to enter into these Terms to use DealSplit.
You agree to provide accurate account information and to keep your account information current.
You are responsible for activity occurring through your account and for protecting your login credentials.
You may not impersonate another person or organization or create accounts for fraudulent, abusive, or deceptive purposes.
3. DealSplit Accounts
DealSplit may support different profiles, contexts, or capabilities, including personal users, organizers, businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, community organizations, staff members, and other authorized account types.
Access to particular features does not necessarily grant authority to act on behalf of another person or organization.
Organization and business permissions may depend on your assigned role and may be changed or revoked.
DealSplit may require additional verification before certain capabilities become available.
4. Deals and Group Purchases
Users may create listings describing products they intend to purchase, have purchased, or wish to split with others.
Organizers are responsible for providing reasonably accurate information about a deal, including where applicable:
- Product or item being purchased
- Quantity and share size
- Price
- Number of available shares
- Store or source
- Expected purchase or pickup timing
- Pickup or fulfillment conditions
- Relevant limitations or requirements
Participants are responsible for reviewing the details before claiming or committing to a share.
A claim, reservation, pledge, or similar action does not necessarily constitute a completed purchase unless the Service explicitly states otherwise.
Availability can change due to inventory, cancellations, organizer decisions, store availability, participant changes, or other circumstances.
5. Pricing and Savings
Users are responsible for the prices they enter into DealSplit.
DealSplit may provide calculations, estimates, comparisons, or AI-assisted information for convenience. Such information may not reflect taxes, deposits, fees, changing retail prices, promotions, membership requirements, or other costs.
Any savings amount displayed by DealSplit should be treated according to the evidence and calculation method presented with it.
DealSplit does not guarantee that a particular deal is the lowest available price or that participating in a split will result in savings.
6. Payments
DealSplit may allow users to indicate preferred payment methods, including third-party services or payment arrangements between participants.
Unless specifically stated otherwise, payments made through cash, Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, Apple Cash, or another third-party service occur outside DealSplit.
DealSplit does not control those third-party services and does not guarantee or independently verify payments made through them.
If DealSplit introduces integrated payment processing, additional payment terms may apply.
Users are responsible for complying with the terms of any payment provider they use.
7. Pickup and Meetups
DealSplit may help users coordinate local pickups or meetups.
Users are responsible for determining whether, when, and where to meet another user.
When possible, consider meeting in a public, well-lit location and use reasonable precautions when interacting with someone you do not know.
DealSplit may limit disclosure of exact pickup information until a user has appropriate authorization or participation status.
You may not attempt to bypass location protections or obtain another user's private location without authorization.
8. Food and Perishable Items
Some DealSplit transactions may involve groceries, food, frozen products, refrigerated products, produce, or other perishable goods.
Users are responsible for evaluating the condition, storage, handling, transportation, expiration, allergens, packaging, and suitability of food they purchase or receive.
Organizers should accurately communicate known storage or handling conditions that may materially affect participants.
DealSplit does not inspect or certify food offered by users and does not guarantee its safety, freshness, or suitability.
9. Prohibited Items and Activities
You may not use DealSplit to offer, request, coordinate, distribute, or facilitate items or activities prohibited by applicable law or DealSplit policies.
You also may not use DealSplit for:
- Fraud or deception
- Stolen goods
- Counterfeit goods
- Illegal products or services
- Dangerous or prohibited items
- Harassment, threats, or stalking
- Discrimination prohibited by law
- Spam
- Manipulation of ratings, rewards, badges, or reputation
- Artificial transactions intended to gain rewards
- Creating accounts to evade restrictions
- Unauthorized collection of another person’s information
- Attempts to bypass security, privacy, location, or access controls
- Malicious interference with DealSplit or its users
DealSplit may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts when appropriate.
10. Businesses and Organizations
DealSplit may allow businesses, schools, nonprofit organizations, community organizations, and other entities to maintain profiles or use specialized features.
If you use DealSplit on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to perform the actions you take on its behalf.
Verification by DealSplit does not constitute an endorsement or guarantee of an organization.
Organizations remain responsible for their activities, representatives, listings, requests, fulfillment, and compliance with applicable laws.
11. Community Requests and Contributions
DealSplit may allow eligible organizations to publish requests for products, supplies, sponsorships, pledges, or community assistance.
A request appearing on DealSplit does not mean DealSplit guarantees the request, organization, need, tax treatment, fulfillment, or use of contributed items or funds.
Users should evaluate requests before contributing.
Any representation regarding tax deductibility must come from an appropriately qualified organization or professional and not merely from the presence of a request on DealSplit.
12. User Content
You retain ownership of content you submit to DealSplit, including photographs, descriptions, messages, reviews, and other material you create.
You grant DealSplit a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and distribute your content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, improve, and provide the Service.
You represent that you have the necessary rights to content you upload.
You may not upload content that violates another person's intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights.
13. Reviews, Reputation, Rewards, and Badges
DealSplit may provide ratings, reviews, reputation indicators, achievements, badges, rewards, or other account signals.
These features are intended to help users understand activity on the platform but are not guarantees regarding a user's identity, reliability, character, safety, or future behavior.
You may not manipulate these systems through fake transactions, duplicate accounts, coordinated activity, self-dealing, or other artificial behavior.
DealSplit may correct, revoke, recalculate, or remove improperly awarded achievements or reputation information.
14. Artificial Intelligence Features
DealSplit may offer optional AI-assisted features such as listing assistance, descriptions, categorization, recommendations, matching, moderation assistance, or other automated functionality.
AI-generated information can be inaccurate.
Users remain responsible for reviewing information before relying on or publishing it.
AI functionality does not replace your responsibility for transaction details, pricing, safety, legal compliance, or communications with other users.
Core DealSplit transactions should not require users to rely upon AI-generated information.
15. Privacy
Your use of DealSplit is also subject to DealSplit's Privacy Policy.
DealSplit may use approximate location to provide local discovery while restricting access to more precise pickup information.
Do not attempt to access private information belonging to another user without authorization.
16. Intellectual Property
DealSplit and its associated software, branding, designs, logos, interfaces, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Except for rights expressly granted under these Terms, DealSplit retains its rights in the Service.
You may not copy, reverse engineer, exploit, or redistribute protected portions of the Service except as permitted by law.
17. Third-Party Services
DealSplit may interact with third-party services such as retailers, mapping providers, authentication providers, payment providers, notification providers, or other platforms.
DealSplit is not responsible for the availability, policies, content, security, or actions of independent third-party services.
Your use of those services may be governed by separate terms.
18. Moderation and Enforcement
DealSplit may investigate reported content or behavior and may take reasonable action to protect users or the Service.
Actions may include:
- Removing content
- Limiting visibility
- Restricting features
- Canceling platform-level activity where technically appropriate
- Suspending accounts
- Terminating accounts
- Preserving information when legally required
DealSplit is not obligated to mediate every disagreement between users.
19. Account Suspension and Termination
You may stop using DealSplit at any time.
Where supported, you may request deletion of your account through the Service.
Some information may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal obligations, fraud prevention, security, dispute resolution, financial recordkeeping, or enforcement of these Terms.
DealSplit may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms, risks to users or the Service, fraud, abuse, or legal requirements.
20. Disputes Between Users
DealSplit provides technology that helps users coordinate.
Users are primarily responsible for resolving disagreements concerning purchases, reimbursement, pickup, product condition, fulfillment, cancellations, or other user-to-user arrangements.
DealSplit may provide reporting or support mechanisms but does not guarantee resolution of user disputes.
21. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
DealSplit does not guarantee that:
- Every listing is accurate
- Every user is trustworthy
- An item will remain available
- A transaction will be completed
- A participant will appear for pickup
- A particular amount of money will be saved
- User-provided products are safe or free from defects
- The Service will always operate without interruption or error
Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or warranties that cannot legally be excluded.
22. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DealSplit and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from use of the Service or transactions between users.
Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
23. Changes to the Service or Terms
DealSplit may modify the Service as it develops.
These Terms may also be updated periodically.
When required, DealSplit will provide appropriate notice of material changes.
The effective or last-updated date shown above identifies the current version.
24. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the laws of the state in which DealSplit's operating entity is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
