Privacy
DealSplit exists to put you in touch with somebody nearby who wants half of what you are buying. That needs a small amount of information about you and no more, and this page says exactly what it is, why it exists, and what happens to it.
What we hold

What we don't do
- DealSplit does not sell your personal information, and does not share it with advertisers.
- There are no third-party advertising or analytics trackers in the app or on this site.
- DealSplit does not take card payments today. Nothing in the app asks for a card number and there is no card number stored anywhere in it — a split is settled between the people in it, in cash at the pickup or however they agree. If that changes, this page changes with it.
- DealSplit does not store your phone number. A phone can be verified, and what is kept is the fact that it was — not the number.
- An organizer never sees your exact address, and you never see theirs. A pickup address is released only to people confirmed on that split, and only by the server.
- Your pickup code is shown to you and to nobody else, including the organizer.
- A deal that is private to a group is invisible outside it, including to anyone who is sent the link.
What you can do about it
- Delete your account. Profile → Settings → Delete account. It removes your profile, your listings and your device tokens. A split you are currently mid-way through will block it until it is finished or cancelled, and the app names which one.
- Turn off notifications. iOS Settings → DealSplit → Notifications, or from inside the app. The device token is released.
- Turn off location. iOS Settings → DealSplit → Location. The app falls back to the city and radius you set by hand.
- Turn off the AI features. Profile → Settings. Personalised matching, listing help and match alerts are each a separate switch.
- Block someone. From their profile or any listing of theirs. A block works in both directions: once it exists, neither of you sees the other anywhere in the app. It keeps working even if the account has been suspended, because stopping somebody reaching you must not depend on being in good standing.
- Get a copy of your data. Email support and we will send it. There is no self-serve export yet, and saying otherwise would be a promise the product does not keep.
Where it lives, and for how long
DealSplit runs on Google Cloud in the United States. Your data is held there and is not transferred anywhere else for storage.
Deleting your account removes your profile, your listings and your device tokens. Some records outlive it on purpose and are not tied to you afterwards: a split somebody else completed keeps its history, and a moderation record kept only as a count of what happened is what stops a banned account being remade the next day.
Children
DealSplit is not for people under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anybody under 18, and an account we learn belongs to somebody under 18 is removed.

If this page changes in a way that affects what we collect or why, the date at the top changes and the app says so before the change applies to you.
